Mr. Kevin LeVine - Director of Bands
Mr. LeVine was appointed as the Director of Bands for Tenoroc High School in November of 2007. Prior to his current position at Tenoroc, Mr. LeVine served as the band director at
Mulberry
High School, where the band program grew from a mere two dozen students to approximately 70 members. In addition to its increase in size, the band program at Mulberry also achieved many overall “superior” ratings and other awards at music assessments and festivals while Mr. LeVine served as the band director. Most notably in 2007, the band was accepted and participated in the FBA State Concert MPA for the first time in over a decade. He has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida Southern College. His professional affiliations include the Music Educators National Conference, Florida Bandmasters Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, national men’s music fraternity. Mr. LeVine also performs with the Rotunda Brass Quintet (Bartow) and the Hollingsworth Winds (Lakeland). He and his wife, Mandy, have two children, Faith and James, and reside in Lakeland where they are active members of their church.
Mr. Jesse Bryant - Assistant Marching Band Director
Mr. Bryant is currently in his 5th year as Director of Bands at Rochelle School of the Arts, where he also teaches several general and elementary music classes. Prior to his current position, Mr. Bryant taught at Kathleen Middle School for five years. Mr. Bryant has assisted with various marching bands over the past 9 years, including Kathleen High, Mulberry High, and now "the Roc". Mr. Bryant stays active as a clarinetist by performing with several groups in the area including the Hollingsworth Winds, and the Lakeland Jazz Orchestra. Mr. Bryant’s passion for music stems from a great love of classical music and several forms of jazz. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 1999 from Florida Southern College and now serves as a member for the FMEA Executive Board.
Mr. Josh McNair - Percussion Instructor
Mr. McNair has been a percussion instructor in Polk County for the past four years. Percussion sections under his direction have recieved many high honors and "superior" ratings at both solo and ensemble and marching band events. Mr. McNair has his AA Degree in Music from Polk Community College. He was awarded the Louis Armstrong Award from the PCC Jazz Band. Mr. McNair also works at Carlton Music Center in Winter Haven and performs regularly with various bands and other groups in the central Florida area.
Mrs. Amanda LeVine - Color Guard Sponsor
Mrs. LeVine has taught and worked with color guards in Polk County for the past six years. Groups performing under her direction have received several "superior" ratings throughout the years at both marching and solo and ensemble events. In addition to heading up the color guard, Mrs. LeVine also teaches 1st grade at Sikes Elementary in Lakeland and plays the oboe. She holds her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida Southern College.
Ms. Shing Woodall - Marching Instructor
Ms. Woodall is currently earning her Master’s in Teaching degree at Florida South College. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science (Minors: Music, History & Anthropology) from Florida State University. While at Florida State, she was the principal percussionist for the University Campus Band for five years. She is an alumnus of Tau Beta Sigma National Band Sorority. A classically trained pianist, Ms. Woodall has written compositions for piano, percussion and trumpet. Devoted to her love of music, Ms. Woodall is a percussionist & pianist for the Hollingsworth Winds and performs as a pianist in concert halls across America. She teaches Social Studies and Chinese at Tenoroc and has certification to teach Music (K-12) as well. In addition to assisting the marching band and drumline, Ms. Woodall also assists the Tenoroc Chorus and coaches the Girl’s Tennis Team.
